London Calling!

London Fashion Week often takes a back seat to the others in the Big Four, but its reputation as a launchpad for up-and-comers is well-deserved.

As Official Logistics Partner for London Fashion Week, DHL has their hand in helping many of these emerging designers get their collections out onto the runway, and this go-round was no exception.

On top of working with Danish designer Anne Sofie Madsen on her cross-Channel debut, DHL Express teamed up with one of fashion’s brightest young design duos and winners of Fashion Fringe, FYODOR GOLAN, to support them in delivering their first London Fashion Week on-schedule show.

Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman, the creative design duo behind FYODOR GOLAN, won last year’s prestigious Fashion Fringe Award with their ‘Flowers of Evil’ Collection and were subsequently stocked by luxury retailers including Harvey Nichols in London, Alan Journo, Milan and Russell Street, Hong Kong.

They first encountered DHL when they were mentored on the importance of international sourcing and logistics in fashion during Fashion Fringe’s mentoring program, and earlier this week, the duo showed off their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection in London to rave reviews.

The unusual collection included over 6,000 Swarovski crystals, 114 meters of fabric, 2,000 safety pins and 3,000 beetles’ wings in unique combinations that you have to see to believe.
As Jackie Potter, Key Account Director, DHL said: “We’re really proud to sponsor FYODOR GOLAN, a fantastically deserving talent.”
