Heating Up Summer at Miami Swim
Synonymous with the hot life, Miami plays host every July to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, presenting beautiful models in next season's sizzling swimwear.
South Beach Miami was a literal hotbed mid-July as swimwear designers hit the historic Raleigh Hotel in the Art Deco district to introduce their fashion ideas for fun in the sun and surf come 2014.
The annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim brings designers from around the globe to one of the most famous beaches in the world, where hard bodies show off some of the most unique and innovative swimwear styles. This year those styles included lots of white, a previously verboten color due to its transparency while wet, a taboo now overcome thanks to advances in textile technology. Straps also criss-crossed bare bellies, pairing a futuristic, cutting-edge look with slim lines.
DHL helped deliver these trends to the public as Official Logistics Partner for the eighth consecutive year at Miami Swim. By bringing global designers' ideas for the best-dressed beach bum to the runway in front of an international compendium of journalists, stylists, and buyers, DHL is not only strutting its logistical stuff, it's ensuring that tomorrow's hottest new styles are in the right hands today.
On Friday, July 19, that also included a special cooperation for the Agua Bendita runway show. Started in 2003 by Colombian designers Catalina Alvarez and Mariana Hinestroza, Agua Bendita is one of the fastest growing swimwear brands in the world. Though their studios are in Colombia, the designers' playful yet edgy designs for handcrafted beachwear and accessories have hit shop floors across the Western Hemisphere, and are growing globally.
