Summer's Here!

Swimwear Sitings in Miami

Miami looks like a sea of flesh year-round, and with its tropical temperatures and sun-kissed beaches, there's no better location to debut the latest itsy-bitsy bikinis.

The Raleigh Hotel served as homebase for this year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim events and its palm-lined turquoise-watered swimming pool provided a stunning backdrop for designers from around the world to show their collections.

While it's tough to do much with the average 3-pieces of triangular material, swim collections for 2013 show real innovation in design. With sharp bursts of color and unique shapes, next year's main beach attraction looks to be the maillot for women and board shorts for men, all with a touch of quirk that makes the swimwear unique.

Designers White Sands of Australia, who showed in Miami last year thanks to support from DHL, stuck to traditional designs in funky, flowery patterns. Dolores Cortes, the hottest thing out of Spain, enjoyed DHL's support this year, and brought out vibrant neons to draw attention to her caftans and cut-outs.

The shows may have closed in Miami last week, but for these stars of swimwear design, the curtains only seem to be rising. For more looks from the Miami runway, become a fan of Fashion Week Live by DHL FacebookExternal Link
