A Haute Couturist Goes Commercial

Though a relative newcomer on the haute couture scene, Danish designer Anne Sofie Madsen has made quite a name for herself over the last two years.

Already familiar with the fashion industry after working as Junior Designer at Alexander McQueen, Madsen started her eponymous label in 2010 and made a splash with her debut opening at Copenhagen Fashion Week last year.

Selected as “One to Watch” by the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Madsen took her unique Sedna-inspired designs to London Fashion Week and grabbed the design world's attention.

In a unique partnership with DHL, Madsen's been able to expand her business worldwide as DHL Scandinavia assists her with all the logistics of getting samples on time to runway shows and is working to set up an online shop so fans of the designer can soon buy her pieces with a few the clicks of their mouse.

The webshop comes just in time, as the designer's Spring/Summer 2013 collection is about to hit catwalks in the Big Four and all eyes are on the couture look with a commercial appeal.

Mixing transparent bouffant dresses with bulky, angelic sweatshirts, the unique collection combines both made-to-order and ready-to-wear styles that will appeal to style lovers around the globe.
