A Talentfest at London Fashion Week

It's been a busy year in Old Blighty as the British hosted the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, but that hasn't stopped them from pulling out all the stops for London Fashion Week.

As hosts to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, London has been on everyone's radar all summer. The whirlwind didn't stop, though, once the athletes departed Old Blighty, for come September, fashionistas from around the world descended on the city to see what UK and international designers have in store for Spring/Summer 2013.

As Mayor of London Boris Johnson said, ‘'2012 has been an unforgettable year for our city and the serotonin is still flowing with the launch of the talentfest that is London Fashion Week. We have astonishingly creative people working in the capital, bringing energy and ideas as well as generating business.”

That energy and creativity was clear at the 62 catwalk shows during London Fashion Week. With shows by UK legends like Vivienne Westwood and new-on-the-scene designers like Philip Treacy, the week at Somerset House had something exciting on tap for the more than 5,000 visitors to the city.

As Official Logistics Partner of LFW and more than 25 other major Fashion Week events around the world, DHL understands that nothing stands still in the world of fashion. Like the fashion industry we support, we don’t let the grass grow under our feet. As experts in international shipping, DHL is committed to helping UK fashion businesses grow – providing guidance and advice on how to capitalize on the increasing appetite for British fashion coming from overseas markets.

One way we've done this at London Fashion Week was through our sponsorship support of the Fashion Fringe competition for up-and-coming designers. Stay tuned to Brandworld for more on the Fashion Fringe show. Or like our Facebook fan page and see photos from the event: Link / New Window
