DHL takes you behind the scenes once again for a look at the Lotus F1 Team – what it takes to compete in the world’s premiere motorsport race series: Formula 1®

The teamwork and logistics behind an immense operation like a Formula 1 team is something DHL knows a thing or two about. Not only do we have over 25 years of international motorsports logistics experience, we also work in an industry that is fast-paced and ever-changing.

“Not knowing what’s going to happen next is a good thing to keep you on your toes,” says Race – Team Coordinator, Geoff Simmonds.

With more and more F1 races taking place outside of Europe, the logistics each team is faced with is more and more demanding.

“You can never stand still in F1. If you try and treat F1 the same way as it was 30 years ago, you’re a dinosaur,” says Derek Rogers, Lotus F1 Team Head of Logistics, who has been in F1 for 32 years himself. “Back in those days, 80% of the races were in Europe; 20% overseas. We’re now hitting the point where we’re going to see more overseas races than European.”

“Our DNA is obviously to win,” says Team Principal, Eric Boullier. “I think our spirit is one of the best in the pit lane.”
