Golfing with a legend in Bahrain

Manchester United’s Champ19ns Trophy Tour – delivered by DHL – visited the island kingdom of Bahrain on March 2, where two DHL employees and one DHL customer were lucky enough to have the pleasure of striking a golf ball with legendary Manchester United striker Andy Cole.

DHL delivered Manchester United’s Champ19ns Trophy Tour to Bahrain on March 2 to give the island kingdom’s many Reds fans a first-hand look at the symbol of the club’s record-breaking 19th Premier League title last season.

Chaperoned by Manchester United legend Andy Cole, the English Premier trophy was on display at a number of locations, including the Bahrain City Center shopping mall in the Seef District, Manama. Fans in the tiny nation came out to show just how gigantic their passion is for Manchester United football.

“The passion and fervor of United fans is famous around the world, and Bahrain is no different,” said Richard Arnold, Commercial Director for Manchester United.

In a special twist to the tour, DHL staff and customers watched legendary Manchester United striker Andy Cole – the second-highest goal scorer in Premier League history – strike a ball of a different sort: a golf ball. At Bahrain’s exclusive Royal Golf Club, Cole teed off with three lucky golfers – two DHL employees, one DHL customer.
The Manchester United Champ19ns Trophy Tour will visit 27 destinations over the course of four months.

DHL Express Bahrain is part of DHL in the Middle East and North Africa region and employs over 100 people who work as hard to meet their customs needs as United’s strikers do to score goals. For more information about DHL in Bahrain, visit http://www.dhl.com.bh/en.htmlExternal Link / New Window.
