United announces 2013/14 Premier League fixtures

Manchester United’s much awaited 2013/14 Barclays Premier League schedule is now out. Another action-packed season kicks off for the 2013 champions at Swansea on August 17.

Manchester United announced their 2013/14 fixtures today. In the wake of a thrilling 2012/13 season that saw the team win its 13th Premier League title, the Reds will be tested again from July to May as they fight to defend their title.

The 2013 Barclays Premier League Champions will open the new season against Swansea City at Liberty Stadium on August 17. All eyes will be on United’s new coach, David Moyes, who will be under pressure to demonstrate that the team has made a smooth transition from long-time, iconic trainer Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Reds’ home opener at Old Trafford follows on August 24 against none other than top rival Chelsea. With Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Manchester City rounding off the first month of play, the champions certainly have the work cut out for them.
