Harlequins Rugby Union – Ahead of the Pack

After the huge success of Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand and with RWC 2015 to take place in England, DHL’s partnership with the Harlequins Rugby Union is a perfect match between the country’s top rugby team and the world’s leading express and logistics company.

The RWC 2015 may still seem a long way off, but DHL is already capitalizing on the popularity of the sport in England, which will be home to the Rugby World Cup in 2015. DHL’s local partnership with the Harlequins Rugby Union – based in London – has proven itself a perfect match.

Rugby has enjoyed tremendous growth in the wake of RWC 2011 that will only increase in the run-up to RWC 2015. There are now over 3.5 million men, women and children playing the Game worldwide while the Rugby family continues to expand with 117 official Unions. “The Quins” – 2012 Aviva Premiership Champions – rank among the leading club brands in world rugby with a fantastic fan base and shared values with DHL.

DHL partnered up with the Harlequins Rugby Union in August 2012 to become the club’s Official Logistics Partner for the next three years. DHL’s logo features on the backs of the team’s jerseys in all Aviva Premiership, Heineken Cup and LV= Cup matches.

The Quins hoisted their first piece of silverware this season in December 2012 when they were crowned Aviva ‘A’ League Champions. March saw the team capture the LV=Cup, securing their third championship trophy in as many seasons. And after riding high for much of the 2012-2013 Aviva Premiership season, the boys of Twickenham Stoop are trying for a historic treble and back-to-back Aviva Premiership Championship.

DHL looks forward to supporting the Quins over the next three years not only as the world’s leading express and logistics company, but also as an experienced partner in the sport of rugby. We hope to play even a small role in helping to deliver the title back to “the Stoop” –the team’s Twickenham Stoop Stadium.
