Green Solutions for Air, Ocean and Road Freight
Intermodal Transport
Intermodal transport plays a significant role in improving carbon efficiency. For example, our product DHL SEAIR combines air and ocean transport modes. Goods manufactured in Asia are first shipped via container ship to Dubai, Los Angeles or Vancouver. From there they are transported by air to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa or Latin America. Compared to pure air cargo transport, this solution is considerably more cost-effective and results in significantly less emissions – and your goods still arrive at their destination comparatively quickly. For overland transport we can reduce truck trips by combining with rail transport. Our DHL Intermodal solution is especially efficient for long-distance transport.
Analysis with a click of the mouse
The Carbon Dashboard provides our customers with a high-performance, web-based tool. With just a few mouse clicks, customers can access statistics on the carbon emissions generated by the transport of their freight. Based on these numbers, they can then consider various scenarios for a more efficient transport mode.
Even with fully optimized transport routes, emissions cannot be avoided entirely. This is why we offer our customers a complete Carbon Offsetting service upon request.
