Carbon Reports

Making improvements requires accurate data and tracking capabilities. This applies to financial figures as well as to environmental data and parameters. As part of our GOGREEN product and service portfolio we offer easy to understand, validated carbon reporting across all our divisions.

Calculating the emission footprint of entire supply chains helps our business customers serve their own reporting requirements. For example, data on CO2 emissions is partly required for reporting purposes. And these figures also play a role in sustainability rankings which are increasingly considered in customers’ investment decisions.

Our detailed carbon reports are also of interest for internal purposes. As they include fuel and energy consumption data as well as emissions data for individual shipments, routes and warehouses, they serve strategic decision-making when looking for ways to reduce emissions and costs.

Easy Analysis

For our Air, Ocean and Road Freight as well as Express customers we offer an additional reporting product: the Carbon Dashboard. This is an especially user-friendly, web-based version of the Carbon Report. With just a few mouse clicks, customers can access statistics on the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the transport of their freight. Based on these numbers, customers can also consider scenarios for optimizing their carbon footprint.
The emission calculations are based on fuel and electricity consumption data. This is combined with operations data. We also draw on emission factors that were taken from approved official sources including the EN 16258, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the International Energy Agency (IEA).

The reporting methodologies and calculation tools used in our Express and Air, Ocean and Road Freight divisions have been verified by the Swiss-based Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) since 2011. The Carbon Report offered by DSC is verified since 2014.They are in line with the product standard “Greenhouse Gas Product Lifecycle Accounting and Reporting” from the well-known Greenhouse Gas Protocol as well as with the European Standard EN 16258 for calculation and declaration of energy consumption and GHG emissions of transport services.
