Kalitta Motorsports

Fastest Partnership in NHRA
The National Hot Rod Association’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series – its premier event – is the epitome of speed: two 10,000-horsepower, nitromethane-burning engines worth of earth-shattering, adrenaline-pumping speed, thundering down the drag strip from zero to more than 330 mph in less than four seconds. There’s nothing else like it on the planet.

The 10-month, coast-to-coast motorsports extravaganza offers the most geographically diverse motorsport schedule in the United States. The series provides a unique fan experience unlike any other major sporting event, giving spectators high accessibility and a chance to connect one-on-one with the race teams and their partners. This has made it a hugely popular motorsport in the U.S., with up to 125,000 spectators attending each event and another 1 million television viewers each race weekend.

DHL and Kalitta Motorsports joined forces in 2007 to create the fastest partnership for the fastest motorsport on earth. Team Kalitta features the DHL Toyota Camry Nitro Funny Car, driven by seasoned drag racing driver Del Worsham. In 2015, DHL, Kalitta Motorsports and Worsham claimed the NHRA world championship. The team also currently boasts the world’s fastest woman: Alexis DeJoria. She is the first woman to crack the four-second mark. In addition to Doug Kalitta and J.R. Todd, who pilot the teams' Top Fuel dragsters. Both Kalitta and Todd are former NHRA Rookie of the Year winners.

Owned by founder and drag racing icon, Connie Kalitta, Kalitta Motorsports is a professional drag racing team competing in the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Kalitta Motorsports is one of the most successful teams in the history of auto racing with six world championships and over 100 national event titles since it was established in 1959. Connie Kalitta was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in June 1992 for a world-class career in the driver’s seat and his tremendous contribution to the sport.
