Provoking the Senses with Cirque du Soleil

Entertaining the world with a unique fusion of music, dance, theatre and awe-inspiring acrobatics is no mean feat – and with 10 shows touring concurrently to over 120 cities every year, in a combination of Arena venues and Big Top tents, Cirque du Soleil need a trusted partner with a strong global network.

DHL signed as Official Logistics Partner in January 2014, and much like the performers and acrobats in the shows, it is critical that DHL gets everything absolutely right first time. When a single Big Top show moves from one city to the next, it can involve the movement of up to 2000 tonnes of equipment in 80 freight containers, by a combination of air, sea and land transport. And with additional support needed across a range of supply chain requirements within its day to day business operations, including small package shipping, warehouse management and merchandise distribution, it is clear there are no second chances.

That is why over the coming months and years, DHL will be focused on ‘learning the ropes’, to get under the skin of the the unique operational needs of Cirque du Soleil and to put in place robust, tailored solutions that will ensure this unique property continues to provoke the senses of audiences in all corners of the globe.
