We are looking for the most employees in the following departments: consulting, controlling, project management, IT, dispatch, telesales, sales, delivery, logistic and, of course, more than 2,000 apprentices a year.

Do you offer part-time jobs to students and who is responsible for such applications?
Unfortunately, we do not offer classic types of part-time work for students. When the need arises, part-time jobs are available in commercial areas, including sorting, loading and coding. If you are interested, please write in by using the contact information provided on the career page of the country you would like to have a part-time or vacation job.

What does the abbreviation DHL mean?

Where can I search job openings?

How often is the Job World updated?
Our Job World in the DHL career portal is updated daily. Therefore, you should check it regularly. You can also create a search agent that will automatically notify you about new job listings.

What happens if I cannot find a job that suits me?
You have the option of creating an online personal profile on Job World. If a new position that fits your personal expectations opens up, you will be automatically informed via e-mail about the job listing. You can also activate a job agent when you create your own online job profile.

Where should I send my application?
Every job advert will have either a yellow Apply button or instructions where to send your application located in the Job World Toolbox section. We encourage everyone to apply online where possible.

How should I apply for a position at the Group?
We recommend the online application. To find out more about "Application Management," go to the DHL career portal and click on Application Support.

Why do you prefer online applications?
To ensure successful application management for you as the applicant and for us as the company, it is vital to have a transparent system of job listings and interested candidates. To guarantee transparency, we need an application management system that all personnel departments can efficiently and independently access. It would be impossible to ensure this type of access at a company as large as DHL with resume folders and e-mail applications. That is why we work strictly with online applications.

What should a complete application include?
When applying online, you will need an electronic version of your CV / resume to upload during the process. You will be guided through the online applications process through a user.

How does the selection process work?
The selection process within DHL is decentralized and divided into several phases. This means that all divisions and brands organize their respective selection process independently. Depending on the job, different selection tools (e.g. interviews, assessment centers or applicants' days) may be used.

Can I send an unsolicited application by e-mail?
Unfortunately, we do not accept unsolicited applications by e-mail. If you would like to send an unsolicited application, we encourage you to apply online. Unsolicited applications will be accepted only as online applications.

Can you give me the names of contact persons in certain corporate divisions?
There are no central contact persons in the corporate divisions. Once you have submitted your application online, you will be contacted by the recruitment team if your qualifications meet the position requirements. You can also make yourself searchable in the Group-wide applicant pool so all of the company's recruitment departments can have access to it. This will provide more opportunities for you to be matched to other open positions.

Why can't I add more than five attachments to my application?
Given the large number of applications we receive, we are forced to limit the number of optional attachments for technical reasons. Choose the documents that you consider most important and insightful to support your application, such as your CV, which is mandatory, and any other documents requested in the jobs you are applying to or what you think provides additional information to best support your application.

What is the maximum size of the attachments that I can add to my online application?
For technical reasons, each attachment that you upload may amount to no more than 2 MB.

How can I find out whether my complete online application has arrived?
All online applications are complete when we receive them. You can use your profile to check on the status of your application. To do this, please log in to our Job World with your Username and password.

How does the e-mail job agent work?
You can use the job agent to create a personal search profile. You can create up to five job agents or five different search profiles in this way. If a job that matches your search profile is advertised, you will be informed automatically by e-mail. Please go to “My Search Agents” after logging into your profile to set one up.

Why can't I apply online for some job openings?
We are currently switching our job openings to the online application system. This is why it is not yet possible to apply online for a number of job openings. Please read the relevant job advertisements to find out how to apply for these jobs (usually in writing, by telephone or by e-mail).

Can I boost my recruitment chances by applying online?
No matter whether you send us an unsolicited application or respond to a job advertisement: We always recommend that you use our online application process. This does not create any advantages or disadvantages for you. But we will digitize all written applications and e-mail applications, and cannot always decide in the process which aspects are of particular importance to you. To ensure that you can emphasize the aspects you consider most relevant, we recommend that you use our online application form.

Do I have to accept cookies to apply online?
Yes. The cookies make it easier for you to enter and administer your personal data. We assure you that we will not collect any data via the cookies without your explicit approval and that we adhere to the German Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Will my data and my application be deleted if I am not offered a job?
We treat all online applications as normal applications as stipulated by the German Data Protection Act (BDSG). That means that your personal data will be stored in our application management system exclusively for the purpose of the application and only for the duration of the relevant job advertisement. After that date, your data will be available to the application management system for another 24 months in an applicants' history. You can withdraw your application at any time, but you will not be able to reapply to that position after you withdraw.

How long is my account valid?
If you do not login to the system after 24 months, your data will be deleted from the system. 6 weeks before deletion, you will receive an email notifying that your account will be deleted unless you login again before that date. If you want to delete your account before that time, you can find the button in the My Account tab of the system. Some countries have longer data retention requirements for applications, and thus you might not be able to delete your data until those requirements have been satisfied.

The DHL internships are designed for students at universities and technical colleges of various backgrounds.

Does DHL offer part-time internships?
No. An internship at DHL usually lasts two to eighteen months. This is long enough to get a look at our company and to gain professional experience through work on specific projects.

Can I send an unsolicited application for an internship?
You can submit an unsolicited application online. As a result, your profile will be included in our company's candidate pool. All personnel departments have access to this pool and can search for candidates when the need for interns arises.

The minimum duration for an internship offered by DHL is 6 month and a maximum of 12 month. Besides that the internship duration may vary between 6 to 12 month based on the needs of the hiring manager.

Most of the internships are offered in Germany, USA, Belgium and Singapore. However DHL operates in 220 countries, and therefore an internship can be raised within any of those countries based on need.

The perfect application – really easy!

Whether you apply online or by mail: Your application is always the key to a successful career change. The application – including the cover letter and letters of reference – is initially the only thing your potential employer knows about you. Consequently, your application should be done in a way that gives the reader a good idea about your qualifications and interests.

Every application is something special and personal. However, an application should definitely fulfill three requirements: It must be orderly. It must be well-structured, and it must be complete.

"Orderly" means that you should carefully check your text for phrasing and spelling mistakes! If you don't apply online, you should pay attention to the material you are mailing. Wrinkled or sticky paper won't impress anyone!

"Well-structured" means that your cover letter should concisely provide the most important information: Which position are you applying for? Why are you interested in the job, and what are your expectations? And why are you especially qualified for the job? Your resume should be written in a tabular form, beginning with your latest employer.

"Complete" means that an application includes a cover letter, a resume and important letters of recommendation.

Tip: Give your application a personal touch

Feel free to mention your hobbies and personal interests in your resume! We want to get an idea about you as an employee and a person – that requires more than just your professional qualifications.
Include a "letter of motivation" in your application: Why would you like to work at our company? How would the company profit from your employment? Which of your skills do you consider especially useful for the job you are applying for? Such a letter also gives you a solid basis for a future interview.

Arriving well-prepared for an interview

If you have been invited to an interview, you have already overcome a big hurdle on your way to a new job: We think your application is so interesting that we would like to get to know you better. The interview is a great opportunity to present your own interests and skills.

The steps of a job interview at DHL
At the companies of DHL, an interview usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. Normally, an employee from the department for which you have applied attends the interview along with someone from the personnel department who leads the interview.

The interview begins with questions about your resume, which you sent us as part of your application. The interview gives you the opportunity to describe in detail stages in your professional career that were particularly important for you.

Afterward, you will be asked about your professional experience: What were your responsibilities and what did you enjoy about them? What are your strengths? Why are you especially qualified for the job? We would like to find out whether your skills and interests fit well with the demands of the job and whether you would contribute to the company's success.

Preparation is half the battle
How do you prepare for such questions? It's easy: You should know both your employer and the job requirements very well. The pertinent information is on the website and in the job advertisement. Friends and acquaintances who already know the company are also good sources of information.

As an applicant, you will probably have a lot of questions about DHL. Our tip: Write down all the questions that you couldn't answer during your research – and bring them to the interview! Don't be afraid to ask questions about salary, vacation, professional training and advancement opportunities. By arriving well-prepared, you will already have realistic expectations regarding these topics.

Just as individual as your career path
In the interview, we also consider your current situation: Someone who is applying for an apprenticeship does not have work experience. Therefore, we ask the applicant about his or her favorite school subjects and hobbies. The goal remains the same: We would like to get an idea of your abilities and preferences so that the job and employee fit well.
