My DHL Experience

I joined DHL as a courier in 1992. Currently, I oversee the dispatch of operations staff to ensure timely collection and deliveries, as well as manage performance & outbound processes. I also manage warehouse cleanliness & security and ensure that the company fleet portrays a positive image at all times.
In addition, I ensure that client queries and supply requests are attended to in a timely and courteous manner.

I have also undertaken a series of short courses in planning & management that have supported me in my professional and personal development.

Moving very important consignments in a professional & timely manner, to the satisfaction of our customers, makes me appreciate and value my time and contribution at DHL.

My DHL Experience

I joined DHL through the Apprentice Programme as a Driver Apprentice. As part of the programme, I have worked in three different warehouses and business sectors undertaking various tasks such as packaging, dispatch and forklift driving.

I am currently working in Health & Safety where I am responsible for updating all paperwork, notice boards & fire registers, as well as completing a weekly workplace inspection and ensuring that lost time sheets are completed correctly.
As part of my training within the programme, I will gain nationally recognised qualifications in warehousing and driving goods vehicles – as well as gain knowledge in other areas such as manual handling and employee rights & responsibilities.

I highly value my job and the opportunity it provides me to develop a strong career. I also appreciate the respect I receive from my colleagues every day while working at DHL.

My DHL Experience

I work as a Front-line Customer Service advisor. In addition to my core role, I have been actively engaged in several “Voice of the Customer” Surveys to help gauge and utilise customer feedback in order to improve our service levels on different fronts. I have also been involved in a First Choice (Deutsche Post DHL Group’s approach for continuous quality improvement) Initiative which has been implemented within our operations.

As a personal initiative - in order to help me learn, get a broader perspective of my function and to better serve our customers - I regularly visit different DHL facilities such as Operations and Sales.

At DHL, hard work, success and dedication do not go unrecognized. I was awarded the Customer Service Person of the Year as well as the Employee of the Year in 2008. This has been very inspiring and something that I hold very close to my heart.
