DHL has launched the SmartPOD app, which gives DHL drivers and third party hauliers a simple and effective way of capturing real time information, using a smartphone. The app is easy to use and integrates with many popular transport management systems.

With drivers on the road Monday to Friday, a manual process to confirm completion, delays or cancellations of deliveries can take up to two weeks, resulting in delayed cash-flows and supply shortages. Manual systems also lack real time visibility.
