Offsite Consolidation Centres
At DHL we also design, manage and operate remote backrooms/offsite consolidation centres for shopping malls (including airport malls) and city centres, plus the retailers operating within these environments. For such customers we seek to:
reduce the number of vehicles accessing the delivery point, and cut traffic congestion/environmental impact in the surrounding area
increase sales through improving the range and availability of merchandise - by providing fast replenishment from (cheaper) offsite storage
provide pre-retailing services offsite so merchandise is delivered to store in a shelf/rail-ready format
enable store staff to focus on their core competencies - i.e. serving customers and selling - rather than back-room activities.
