DHL's procurement and logistics unit, 4CX, is a partnership between DHL and 4C - a leading specialist procurement company. By taking a procurement-led approach to the end-to-end supply chain, 4CX is able to deliver substantial cost savings on a wide range of non-core products - everything from promotional materials and consumables, to workwear, operational spare parts and other goods not-for-resale - while effectively managing the risks associated with global sourcing.

Leveraging DHL's global reach and supply chain expertise, plus 4C's worldwide purchasing scale, 4CX provides the following value to customers:

- more management time to focus on their core business, rather than on indirect, non-core purchases
- global supply chain network with knowledge of suppliers in local and emerging economies
- reduced costs and risks associated with sourcing from new territories - e.g. emerging markets
- management of tenders for specific and individual projects on the customers' behalf
- coordination of the transaction at every stage in the supply chain - ensuring quality and lead times are achieved
- maximised customer revenues through meeting delivery promises and quality requirements
- local market requirements - including customs clearance and compliance management
- assurance that procurement processes and vendor operations meet customers' corporate social responsibility objectives.
