The health and safety of our employees pose one of the central challenges faced by a global logistics company. We define health according to the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion and have built our health management policies on three central elements: strategic health protection, health promotion, and occupational health and safety.
On a strategic level, we view health management as the systematic approach to optimizing our organization and processes. Healthy people are more innovative and creative, thereby contributing more to the company's success. We have therefore anchored promotion of our employees' physical and mental health within our Code of Conduct, and have outlined it in the Sustainability Report of Deutsche Post World Net.
Our company doctors and occupational safety specialists constitute the heart of our ISO 9001-certified occupational health and safety organization. On the level of health promotion and multifaceted occupational health, we combine management programs with employee initiatives and external networks. The objective is to introduce the issues to employees, awaken their interest and commitment, develop companywide know-how in health and occupational safety questions, and continually optimize our organization.
