At DHL we use our scale and global footprint to provide cost-effective consolidation services for customers worldwide. We operate our own consolidation centres in some of the world's major manufacturing hubs, and also manage consolidation processes at our customers' and third-party premises.
Our consolidation services add substantial value for our customers:

  • cost savings through lower unit freight charges applicable to heavier cargoes
  • cost savings through better use of cube and the transportation of full container loads (FCL) and full trailer loads (FTL)
  • support with  customs brokerage and customs declarations
  • supplier collections and origin management (on the ground in the source country)
  • cargo inspection/QC and sorting
  • carrier management
  • consolidation procedures for individual customers
  • option of undertaking low cost  value-added services in consolidation centres within the country of origin.
