FIA World Touring Car Cup
Real Cars. Real Racing.
Taking everyday cars with everyday engines to their absolute limits, the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) is one of the fastest growing and most spectacular motorsport series in the world. Drivers compete on both street tracks and specially designed circuits, including some of the world’s most iconic venues such as Macau, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Suzuka and Vila Real.
When WTCR first approached DHL, it was looking for a strong logistics partner with the experience to manage the “race behind the race” and help grow the event internationally. In 2010, it named DHL Official Logistics Partner and, sure enough, the WTCR calendar today includes some 30 races in 10 countries across four continents.
The WTCR is a year-round job for DHL. Our dedicated motorsports logistics team works closely with WTCR throughout the year to plan the logistics for the tightly packed racing calendar. We not only transport 26 race cars (with equipment and spare parts), 4,000 liters of fuel and 620 tires to each WTCR race, but also make sure to use the most efficient modes of transport, relying heavily on ocean freight for events outside Europe. We also handle garage and paddock equipment, freight storage, customs clearance and express shipments for FIA WTCR management. And we’re there to arrange flights and transportation on short notice for emergencies.
With nearly four decades of motorsports logistics experience, we can’t get enough of motorsports at DHL. You’ll be sure find us on the scene on WTCR race days with our DHL Pole Position Award – an important and highly visible part of every WTCR race weekend. Or you might run into racing legend and DHL Brand Ambassador Tom Coronel engaging fans with his infectious passion for racing while offering the chance to join him in the cockpit of his WTCR car and take a lap with him on a race track.
