INCREASED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS INTO GERMANY
February 15, 2021
Because of increased risk of infections with new variants of Covid-19, there have been provided stricter rules regarding border crossing into Germany. The following countries have been added to the list of so-called “areas of variant of concern”:
- Austria (Tyrol) – including transit from Italy
- Czech Republic
Therefore must all drivers coming from/via those areas take a Covid-19 test effective from Sunday February 14th, 2021, at 00:00 AM. Only drivers with a negative test result can continue their trip into Germany. This will inevitably lead to increased waiting times at the German borders, resulting in longer transit times.
