Important Changes in the Export Process
April 26, 2024
According to the Danish Customs Agency, the so-called e-Export system will be replaced by DMS Online from 29 May 2024. This change affects all exporting companies in Denmark.
As with the previous system, your company must be registered as an exporter, but it is now necessary to be registered as an exporter on the company's CVR number, which is also the company's EORI number. Companies registered exclusively on their SE number will therefore not be able to export goods to third countries after 29 May 2024.
The primary involved players in an export declaration, i.e. the exporter and the declarant or representative, must all have their CVR/EORI number registered in Denmark. Once this is in place, it will ensure that your business is ready for the transition on May 29, 2024.
Why is this important to me as a customer and exporter?
The introduction of DMS Online places significantly higher demands on the exporter, as the additional data fields added to the declarations make the preparation of export declarations more complex than before. While DMS Online also is more difficult to navigate, this means that the preparation of export declarations becomes significantly more time-consuming.
