DHL GoTeach Program in Indonesia Aims to Boost Youths’ Readiness for Work, Extended Outreach to Over 230 Youths in 2025

Press Release: Jakarta, 06 February 2026

  • DHL reached over 230 youths in nine regions – from Aceh to Flores – achieving the widest coverage in the program's 11 years of implementation
  • More than 40 volunteers from three DHL divisions collaborated and contributed over 2000 volunteer hours through mentoring, training, and career guidance

Entering its 11th year, DHL’s GoTeach program in Indonesia has marked a significant milestone in 2025. The program involved over 230 youths aged 15 to 24 from Banda Aceh, Meulaboh, Medan, Jakarta, Lembang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Bali, and Flores, representing the widest coverage in the program’s history. More than 40 volunteers from DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain voluntarily contributed over 2000 hours of their time, including teaching, facilitation, and career-planning workshops.

Launched in 2010, GoTeach is a DHL global program that aims to improve employment opportunities for young people, especially those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. The program is a cornerstone of DHL Group’s purpose of ‘Connecting people, improving lives’. DHL Group has also just extended its partnership for another five years through 2030 with Teach For All and SOS Children’s Villages.

In Indonesia, DHL partners with SOS Children’s Villages. It conducts skills workshops and mentorship programs for youths at SOS Children’s Villages to help them transition to the workforce. GoTeach was implemented in Indonesia in 2014.

In 2025, DHL partnered with other local companies, including Berkat Lentera Kecil, Dibimbing.com, Merck, Yayasan Berani Bermimpi, as well as professionals in the mental health and financial planning sectors, to help curate a comprehensive curriculum. Topics covered centred around personal development, job readiness, digital literacy, and insights into growth sectors.

The youths took part in eight structured virtual sessions to ensure each of them receives the same set of materials regardless of where they are. The program also included mentoring, where volunteers served as mentors to deepen interaction and collaboration.

To promote continuous learning, DHL launched an online learning library where youths can revisit training materials, access additional modules, and further develop skills tailored to their needs. It also provides youths with the flexibility to learn at their own pace, enabling more effective competency growth.

Ahmad Mohamad, Senior Technical Advisor, Indonesia, DHL Express said, “Eleven years of GoTeach in Indonesia demonstrate that when businesses, communities, and social organizations move forward together, we can open more equitable access to learning. This year proves that the scale and depth of collaboration can produce learning outcomes increasingly relevant to the next generation. Our program reflects DHL’s long-term commitment to supporting the development of young talents.”

Nicholas Bongsosartono, President Director, Indonesia, DHL Global Forwarding said, “GoTeach is committed to providing the youths access to fair learning conditions. Last year saw the coordination between SOS Children’s Villages and DHL help bridge various access limitations in different regions, such as connectivity challenges and limited educational resources, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all participants.”

Mauricio Almeida, Managing Director, Indonesia, DHL Supply Chain said, “Many young people have great potential but lack access to the development of communication skills, work discipline, and problem-solving abilities. GoTeach provides that opportunity, and we have witnessed consistent skill improvements throughout the program.”

Yunus Ismail from SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia said, “DHL’s GoTeach is not merely a learning program, but a safe space that allows young people to discover their potential and understand future development pathways.”

Youth employment challenges in Indonesia remain a national concern amid growing industry demand for job-ready talent. Data show that the unemployment rate among youth aged 15–24 reached 16.16 percent, making this age group the highest in the country.1 This condition underscores the need for targeted interventions to strengthen job readiness and expand equitable access to learning opportunities for young people.

With an increasingly inclusive learning foundation, DHL’s GoTeach aims to further expand its reach, deepen collaboration and support the development of an adaptive, globally competitive young talent ecosystem in Indonesia.
