  • Volker Schmitz, Global Head of Markets Supply Chain Operations leads the SC operations functions globally. He is responsible for operational excellence from order to delivery and revenues for all personal systems and print products while providing a seamless customer experience with a competitive cost structure. This includes serving all countries, all go-to-market motions, and global account execution. Deliver superior business results for all markets in the world with consistent execution. 

  • Barbara Kux is a multiple board member with a longstanding international experience in executive positions and as board member with leading industrial and consumer goods companies. She started her career as management consultant at Mc Kinsey in Germany. In 2008 she was appointed the first women to the Managing Board of Siemens, were she increased results from green businesses and supply chain by several billion euros, just as she had done before at Royal Philips as a member of the Group Management.

     Previously, she held leadership roles at Nestle and ABB, for whom she established businesses in Central and Eastern Europe. As a member of the SDSN Leadership Council for the United Nations, she contributed to the definition of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. At INSEAD she is a member of the Advisory Council and acted as Director in Residence for Corporate Governance. Her current board roles include the role of Vice Chairman of Firmenich and  board director of Henkel and Grosvenor Group.

    After studies in Switzerland and as AFS scholar to the US, she earned her MBA with distinction from INSEAD. 

  • Since February 2018 Katja Busch has been responsible for the Sales Organization “DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation” as Chief Commercial Officer & Head of CSI at DHL Group.

    From January 2013 – January 2018 Katja Busch was Chief Sales Officer (CSO) DHL eCommerce Germany. Prior to this, she was Divisional Board Member for DHL eCommerce for over six years in the Mail division at DHL AG responsible for domestic sales including customer service for eCommerce.

    Appointed CSO DHL eCommerce Germany in 2013, Busch assumed overall responsibility for customer service for both Mail and Parcel business units, including 22 call centers operated by DHL Customer Service GmbH. From March 2014 – January 2018, she headed international customer service for the Group’s eCommerce division. In August 2016 she also assumed responsibility for the newly created Global eCom* Key Account Management unit.

    Following an education in natural sciences, Busch spent seven years in various sales roles at TNT Express Germany before moving to DHL Group in 1997. After serving as service branch head and business department head, she was appointed Head of Marketing & Sales in January 2004 at DHL Express Austria based in Vienna. In March 2006 she was appointed Divisional Board Member for DHL eCommerce Germany.

  • Melanie Kreis is the Chief Financial Officer at DHL Group and one of our guest speakers. Kreis was named as one of the “75 most influential women in German Business” and as “woman of the year” by Manager Magazin and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2016. In November 2017, she was assessed by Forbes as being the 67th most powerful woman in the world.

  • Huibert was appointed Downstream Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Royal Dutch Shell on January 1, 2020. As Shell’s Downstream Director, Huibert is responsible for managing our Marketing, Chemicals, and Products, and Trading and Supply businesses. He joined Shell in 1995 and led many Downstream businesses across Shell in Europe, Africa, North and South America, and Asia.

    Carolin leads the global methods for customer engagement, creative problem solving, and co-creation at the DHL Innovation Centers. From the flagship Innovation Center near Cologne Germany, she engages with the top 100 global customers of DHL Group to help them tackle their biggest challenges in supply chain innovation. Through new, interactive formats, creative tools, and professional facilitation she turns business challenges into actionable roadmaps that create change. 

    Carolin’s past experiences include 12 years of marketing and sales in premium and luxury brands, with demonstrated experience taking offline business online. She has studied in Germany and the United States and holds a degree in business administration, majoring in marketing.
