DHL Express, the world’s leading express service provider, announced that it has donated KRW 35 million (EUR 25,000) to Busan Senior Health Center. The donation is part of ‘DHL’s Got Heart’ initiative for charity and will be used to purchase medical beds for the Busan Senior Health Center.
Started in 2017, ‘DHL’s Got Heart’ is an annual global competition that recognizes DHL Express colleagues who give their free time to support a charitable cause through volunteering or fundraising. DHL receives entries from employees around the world and rewards selected winners a share of a generous prize fund to donate to their cause in the name of DHL.

In the 2019 competition, Sungyeob Lee, a courier working in Busan Service Center of DHL Express Korea was selected as one of the 5 regional winners for his volunteering work at the Busan Senior Health Center. For nearly 10 years, Sungyeob has been regularly feeding and providing special care to the patients, cleaning the wards, as well as contributing to the well-being of the elderly in the center.
Byung Koo Han, Country Manager of DHL Express Korea said, “We are proud that a colleague from Korea has been awarded the prize fund for donation in this global program. Sungyeob is an excellent role model and I hope this will also encourage others to get involved and contribute to making our communities better for all. We will continue to strive in our volunteering efforts to make sure we are always Connecting People and Improving Lives.”
