DHL Express Wins Korea Social Media Award for 11th Consecutive Year

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has won the Korea Social Media Award in the transportation and logistics category at the 17th Korea Interactive Communication Awards held on Thursday, November 7, at Korea Press Foundation’s Korea Press Center. This marks the 11th consecutive year that DHL Express has been honored with this accolade.

Winners were chosen based on their digital communication effects, effectiveness in monitoring voices of customer, and operational assessment. DHL Express Korea scored highly in most assessment indices, including blog and Instagram management, campaign and promotion, and internet communication index.

This year, DHL Express’s social media strategy is to allow customers to easily connect and establish a deeper relationship with DHL. Based on this, the company curates and creates thought leadership content on logistics and global trade as well as practical tips to enable businesses to ship internationally even in the era of uncertainty.

Additionally, DHL Express Korea regularly produces customized content across its different channels. Different strategies are applied to suit different characteristics of each channel. For example, the Naver blog provides logistics and e-commerce content based on keywords. Through Naver Post, it introduces industry-specific terms for professionals in the logistics sector. On Instagram, it promotes DHL’s identity and engages with B2C customers, whereas it uses Kakao Talk Channel for promotion and communication with core target groups. Finally, its Facebook page is a hub channel that directs users to various channels.

Discover Korea, which was launched this year, has garnered significant praise as it offers corporate customers a comprehensive overview of useful information for their overseas expansion -- success stories of entering international markets, industry-specific global expansion know-how, entry guides for different countries, and e-commerce trends.

Furthermore, DHL Express Korea consistently publishes various ESG content to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and its impact on companies. It introduces various successful customer case studies that leverage GoGreen Plus service to encourage more corporate customers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their operations.

DHL Express Korea has built a solid reputation and presence on social media. It was the first in the logistics industry to open a corporate blog in 2012. It currently manages five social media channels, including Naver Post, Facebook, Instagram, and Kakao Talk Channel.

The Korea Social Media Award is hosted by the Korea Internet Communication Association (KICOA) and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The award aims to recognize and disseminate the best use cases of companies and organizations that engage with consumers via digital communication and marketing tools, including social media platforms. In addition, the award also recognizes the endeavours of companies that have made outstanding achievements in the area.
