At the award ceremony organized by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW), DHL Express was also recognized on the list in the Best Workplace for Parents™ and ESG Human Rights Management™ categories for the second consecutive year.
The Great Place to Work® Institute is a global consulting firm that collects data from employees from more than 179 countries worldwide, including the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Japan, and has helped companies build trust-based corporate culture by enhancing the awareness of great workplaces to work. The ‘Great Place to Work in Korea’ awards recognize companies based on two evaluation criteria: ‘Trust index’ – based on employee surveys and ‘Cultural Audit’ – an expert assessment on the overall management of corporate culture.
High Trust Index scores
This year, DHL Express Korea achieved high scores in all five subcategories (‘Credibility,’ ‘Respect,’ ‘Fairness,’ ‘Pride,’ and “Camaraderie’) of the ‘Trust Index’, with ‘Respect,’ ‘Pride’ and ‘Camaraderie’ standing out as the highest-scoring subcategories.
Celebrating leadership excellence
In the individual category, JiHun (Michael) Han, Managing Director of DHL Express Korea, was selected as the most respected CEO in Korea. This honor is meaningful as the CEO Trust Index is directly scored by company members. He received particularly higher scores in the ‘Trust,’ ‘Respect,’ and ‘Fairness’ subcategories.
Fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace for all
Additionally, the DHL Women’s Network Team won the Korea GPTW Innovation Leader accolade in recognition of its efforts to create an inclusive corporate culture through various events and campaigns each year. Launched in 2014, the DHL Women’s Network shared stories of employees who experienced inclusion within the organization and promoted respect for diversity in commemoration of International Women’s Day. The network also holds internal annual bazaars with other departments and has actively led CSR initiatives.
Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to DHL’s people culture. . In Korea, the company has fostered an inclusive working environment where employees feel recognized and valued. In this year’s Trust Index survey, more than 92% of DHL Express Korea employees indicated, “I feel proud of what we have achieved together.” They responded that they are treated fairly, regardless of gender, age, school ties, and regional ties.
Putting people first
In September 2024, the Ministry of Employment and Labor recognized DHL Express Korea as the Best Human Resources Developer (Best HRD). This certification was awarded in recognition of DHL Express Korea’s consistent efforts in nurturing human resources through merit-based HR management and systematic education and training programs. Additionally, DHL Express Korea has actively committed to providing safe working environments under the ‘Work Safe, Home Safe principle.’ The company also reinforced its welfare programs, including an employee health checkup program to support their healthy lives.
Commenting on the achievements, JiHun (Michael) Han, Managing Director of DHL Express Korea, said, “I am very pleased to see us on the ‘Great Place to Work in Korea’ list for the 11th consecutive year, as our biggest asset is our employees. Additionally, receiving the Best Workplace for Parents™ and ESG Human Rights Management™ awards is highly motivating. We will continue to do our best to foster a corporate culture where all employees can trust and respect one another.”
