DHL Express Expands Partnership With Korea Airports Corporation to Deliver Passengers’ Lost Items
Press Release: Seoul, South Korea, April 23, 2025
- Partnership is extended to six other airports in South Korea, in addition to Incheon International Airport and Jeju International Airport
- The service enables international passengers departing from these partner airports to receive their recovered items at their address of choice
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has expanded its partnership with Korea Airports Corporation, where its international express shipping services of lost items are extended to six more airports in South Korea. In addition to airports at Incheon and Jeju, passengers who have lost their belongings when departing from Gimpo, Gimhae, Daegu, Cheongju, Muan, and Yangyang International Airports can now use DHL Express to receive their lost items.
The decision to expand the service to all international airports operated by Korea Airports Corporation is a response to a growing demand, following the launch of the service at Jeju International Airport in April last year. Another key factor in the extended scope is also the substantial increase in the number of overseas travelers in South Korea each year.
DHL Express Korea and Korea Airports Corporation will work closely together to promote the service and optimize its operation. The partnership is expected to alleviate the inconveniences experienced by travelers trying to retrieve their lost belongings after leaving Korea, while improving airport services and customer satisfaction.
Jihun (Michael) Han, Managing Director of DHL Express Korea, said, “We have received positive feedback on our international shipping services for passengers who lost their belongings at airports. As we broaden our partnership, the service will significantly enhance convenience for more international travelers. It also shows that our expertise in cross-border express delivery services can be leveraged in many other ways.”
Travelers who wish to use this service must first contact the lost-and-found center of the airport where they left their lost items behind to lodge a report. They can contact DHL’s dedicated helpdesk with the report reference number to request international express shipping service. The DHL helpdesk will then provide an estimated shipping cost for delivering the item. DHL Express will take care of all the necessary shipping processes, including packaging, preparation of documents (such as waybills and commercial invoices), pickup, and customs clearance. The lost items will be delivered to the international destinations within an average period of two to three days.
DHL Express Korea is also partnering with Incheon International Airport Corporation to offer the same service at Incheon International Airport. Partnership with Korea Airports Corporation brings the total number of partnering airports to eight, including the seven international airports operated by the corporation.
