With reference to information published 26.03.2020.
DHL Global Forwarding, Freight Norway is closely monitoring the situation around the corona virus. Our assessments are based on public health advice. All our employees who can work from home do so. At the same time, we encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with and follow the official health advice provided.
We can see a positive development. Both the time consumption in connection with border crossings and the access to capacity in the transport market have stabilized. The Norwegian krone is still weaker than it would be under normal circumstances, but it has become slightly stronger than the bottom level we experienced last month. With regards to the Domestic market, we face the same challenges in May we did in April, where the sum of all (Covid-19 related) measures leads to limited transport capacity.
In consequence, we will reduce the COVID-19 fee from 13% to 8% from 11.05.2020 on international transport services. For domestic transport services, we see the need to continue with the Covid-19 fee of 13%.
This serious situation causes circumstances and obstacles that are beyond the control of DHL Global Forwarding Freight Norway and which we cannot avert. We therefore warn that we may run the risk of no longer being able to fulfill all our obligations and that deviations may occur. Examples of deviations that may occur are pickup or delivery times, as capacity is still a challenge. We will keep you up to date on any deviations and will do our best to find alternative solutions if needed.
