HEAR FROM REGAN THORPE

Operations Graduate, Australia

Use three words to describe the culture of DHL.

Community, Diversity & Integrity.

Tell us why you chose DHL and about your experience in the DHL Graduate Program.

DHL is a global company with endless career opportunities, being part of DHL gives you access to a range of formal and informal training/courses that I believe you wouldn’t find at other organisations.

My experience so far has been interesting. Although you move around from team to team, it has been a great opportunity to build a network, concentrate on my skills/weaknesses and learn from those around me.

What do you find interesting about the supply chain industry?

The supply chain industry is great because it is not limited to a single business function or process; you gain exposure to a wide range of functions that make up a business. With this in mind, I think this exposure also allows you to work with such a variety of professionals from different business backgrounds whether it is operational staff, key business stakeholders or even customers for example.

If I asked a colleague or a friend to describe you in 3 words, what do you think they will say?

I can hope they would say something like; trustworthy, generous & easy-going …

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

I think at this point in my career it is simply meeting new people and learning new skills.

What accomplishment in your program journey are you most proud of and why?

I guess it would be (almost) completing my first year of the grad program. The first year of working fulltime is interesting because there is a lot to learn and take in, I have learned so much professionally and about myself but also about the business and the culture.
