DHL EXPRESS INAUGURATES NEW USD 513,500 SERVICE CENTRE IN DILI

The USD513,500 investment aims to enhance the connection between local businesses and the rest of the world

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, officially marked the opening of a new service centre in Dili, Timor Leste today. Amidst the growing interest in local entrepreneurship in Timor Leste, the new USD513,500 facility aims to connect businesses in Timor Leste to international markets.

Located in Avenida Presidente Nicolau Lobato, Fatuhada – Dili, the facility is strategically positioned in the capital’s commercial center and in close proximity to the international airport in Timor Leste.  With the countries drive to attract foreign investments since its independence 17 years ago and  under its Strategic Development Plan 2011 – 2030, the  nation is leveraging its natural resources to provide job and economic growth opportunities in the oil and gas, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, where DHL will be able to support Timorese businesses to import and export critical goods to meet tight timelines.

Managed by trained and skilled international specialists who are certified to handle all kinds of products, the 300 sqm facility is equipped with advanced material handling equipment to handle imports and exports to and from the country. The facility includes gravity conveyors, a weighing & dimensioning system and is fitted out with an electronic security system with 32 CCTV cameras, intruder detection system to ensure the utmost safety of our customers shipments and our people. This service centre coupled with DHL Express’s investment in brand new vehicles will have the capacity to process more than 25,000 shipments per year.
