Ocean Freight Port Situation Update

March 2026

Explore the latest developments at key ocean ports worldwide.

Regional Port Highlights:

Americas

  • Across the Americas, operations range from generally fluid conditions in several regions to pockets of disruption marked by moderate to severe vessel delays, equipment shortages, inland constraints, and terminal congestion, particularly in certain West Coast, East Coast (Canada), Gulf, and South American corridors.

Europe

  • Across Europe, operations remain strained by irregular vessel arrivals, high yard density, weather‑related inland disruptions, and congestion linked to broader geopolitical re-routings, although select gateways continue to run smoothly with minimal issues.

Middle East & Africa

  • Across the Middle East and Africa, operational conditions range from weather‑related delays and moderate congestion in the East Mediterranean and Atlantic corridor to severe disruption in the Arabian Gulf—where long vessel delays, acute equipment shortages, inland constraints at Jebel Ali and Dammam, and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to ongoing conflict are heavily impacting routing— while East and Southern Africa show a mixed situation, with delays in some locations contrasted by stable operations in others. We continue to monitor developments closely while supporting customers with effective mitigation measures.

Asia-Pacific

  • Across Asia Pacific, operations remain broadly stable with only isolated weather‑related slowdowns, minor pockets of delay and yard pressure in parts of South and Southeast Asia, and generally steady flows in Oceania aside from small day‑level slips and some recurring equipment tightness.
