Price adjustment of road transport products and additional services from January 1, 2023

The price for road freight transport is currently significantly influenced by a number of inflationary and geopolitical influences.

The rising costs of providing transportation are related to the increase in the cost of operating and maintaining trucks, the growth of insurance prices, the increased costs of operating logistics infrastructure and equipment, the development of wages and the availability of qualified personnel. Last but not least, the road freight transport market is struggling with the unavailability of new vehicles both due to long delivery times and a substantial increase in acquisition prices.

We consider the persistent factor of missing drivers to be critical. The unfavorable situation has deepened both in connection with the war conflict in Ukraine and the continued outflow of drivers to passenger transport and the general unattractiveness of this profession. This fact directly affects the disparity between the demand and supply of transport capacities on the market.

As a result of the above-mentioned dramatic increase in costs and market developments, we are forced to adjust prices by an average of 12% from 1/1/2023 for the following products and additional services:

DHL Freight Home Delivery Domestic

DHL Freight EuroConnect International

DHL Freight Eurapid

  • Delivery to the floor
  • Removal of old electrical appliances
  • Pallet management
  • Transportation of ADR goods

Price adjustment information for September - December 2022

This year in the field of road freight transport is marked by a record growth of costs in road transport in the last few years.

The price for road freight transport is currently significantly influenced by a number of inflationary and geopolitical influences, among which are primarily rising costs related to the operation and maintenance of trucks, the operation of logistics infrastructure, the development of wages and the availability of qualified personnel, and last but not least, the factor of a shortage of drivers.

The unfavorable situation has deepened both in connection with the war conflict in Ukraine and the continued outflow of drivers to passenger transport and the general unattractiveness of this profession. This fact directly affects the disparity between the demand and supply of transport capacities on the market.

Moreover, European road freight transport statistics clearly show that the significant shortage of these capacities will continue in the remainder of 2022.

The DHL Freight CZ team has provided and will continue to provide the capacity needed to provide a level of service that you know and trust.

Let me inform you that, given the expected development, we are forced to introduce a Peak Season Surcharge for the coming season - a seasonal surcharge of 8.5% to the current transport rates. This surcharge applies to international and domestic shipments and will be valid from 1.9. to 15.12.2022

Thank you for your understanding of this measure, which is caused by the increased costs in the transport market and will allow us to ensure the high quality of our services also during the season.

Change in the method of payment of cash on delivery by the consignee for shipments destined for Slovakia

Dear customers,

We would like to inform you about the change in the method of payment of cash on delivery by the recipient for shipments destined for Slovakia.

From 1 April 2022, cash on delivery will only be possible with a credit card.

The maximum cash on delivery is EUR 5,000.

Before receiving the shipment, customers are informed from the given email address that DHL will require the payment of a special fee in order to deliver the goods. DHL does not withhold any shipments and does not condition their delivery by paying a fee.

Please note that DHL does not require any payments in this way.

DHL accepts no responsibility for costs, fees or payments made improperly as a result of fraudulent activity.

Operation of DHL Freight CZ s.r.o. is not restricted and we continue to provide shipments in full with NO restrictions.  

PREVENTIVE MEASURES - CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19

Being aware of the importance of safe shipment, we are introducing a variety of preventive measures to protect the health of both our workers and our customers.

The following measures have been introduced

  • Our drivers are equipped with drapes and protective gloves.
  • At all workplaces we pay attention to increased hygiene in the form of antibacterial agents and educational wall notifications. Employees were informed about ways to minimize the risk of infection. We have also increased the frequency of workplace cleaning.
  • We actively communicate not only with our employees, but also with our drivers and carriers and other partners. All drivers are trained to protect themselves when delivering consignments while respecting our customers' precautions.
  • We are working on the preparation of possible scenarios in the event of a worsening of the situation in order to be fully prepared.
  • We follow all recommendations from government agencies and the parent company of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
