Year-End Season May Cause Minor Delays in DHL Freight Deliveries

November 20, 2025

Shipment volumes are once again increasing toward the end of the year, and the growing popularity of the Black Friday period has significantly boosted transport volumes. Larger-than-normal freight flows may occasionally cause delays in DHL Freight’s domestic deliveries.

Our terminals are currently receiving an exceptionally high amount of freight, which may temporarily slow down unloading and sorting. Our fleet and terminal staffing resources are sufficient, but to ensure smooth operations, we may need to slow down unloading to prevent terminal congestion.

Estimated Delay: Some shipments may experience a delay of 1–2 days before the delivery or pickup notification can be sent to the recipient. Delays are most likely in domestic consumer deliveries (B2C). Minor delays are also possible in B2B shipments.

When Will the Congestion Ease?
Black Friday-related peak volumes are expected to continue until early December. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates if necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays.

You can track the progress of your shipment in the myDHLFreight portal.
