Domestic Pickup and Distribution Deliveries in the Joensuu Economic Area Transferred to the Kaukokiito Network

As of 1 February 2026, DHL Freight’s domestic pickup and distribution deliveries in the Joensuu economic area have been transferred to the network of Suomen Kaukokiito Oy. Starting from March 2026, the same operating model will be expanded to cover all of Finland except the Helsinki metropolitan area, meaning that domestic parcel freight will be transferred nationwide to the Kaukokiito network.

In the Joensuu economic area (postal code areas 79700–83985), the transition to the Kaukokiito network took effect on 1 February 2026. During the early phase of the transition period, there may be occasional exceptions in which Posti picks up a shipment if the pickup request has already been registered in their system.

Customers are asked to note that the local operating practices previously agreed with Posti – such as fixed pickup times – will not automatically transfer to the new model. If you wish to continue using your current arrangements, we kindly ask you to contact DHL Freight Customer Service.

Nationwide Change in March

In March 2026, DHL Freight will transfer its domestic pickup and distribution deliveries comprehensively to the Kaukokiito transport network. The change applies to the whole of Finland, with the exception of the Helsinki metropolitan area. The reform will harmonize domestic transport services and improve the smoothness and reliability of deliveries across the country.
