DHL Freight Temporarily Moves to Weekly Fuel Surcharge Updates

The changed security situation in the Middle East is currently affecting global logistics chains and is also reflected in European road transport.

The use of alternative routes, changing security arrangements and fluctuations in fuel prices may cause both cost variations and schedule adjustments.

DHL Freight is closely monitoring the situation. Our aim is to anticipate changes as efficiently and transparently as possible and to minimise their impact on your supply chains. 

The most immediate impacts are currently seen in rising fuel prices. Fuel is a key cost factor, particularly in long-distance transport. 

Due to the exceptional market situation, DHL Freight will temporarily move to weekly fuel surcharge updates. The objective of this change is to ensure that transport pricing reflects the rapidly changing market conditions:

• The fuel surcharge will be updated every Friday
• The updated surcharge will apply for the following week
• The next update will be published on 6 March 2026
