Netherlands road toll surcharge to increase on July 1, 2026 – wide-ranging impact on European transport

A new road toll surcharge will be introduced in the Netherlands starting July 1, 2026. The change will affect DHL Freight’s road transport in the Netherlands and will also have an impact on traffic to and from Belgium and Portugal, as well as partly on Spain and France.
Road tolls are reflected in transport prices through a separate toll surcharge. In addition to shipments to the Netherlands, the increase will also affect shipments transiting through the country, such as those bound for Belgium and Portugal, and partly for Spain and France.
The latest toll surcharges are available to our customers in the MyDHLFreight customer portal under Knowledge Base > Surcharges.
