Road Toll Surcharges Increase in the Netherlands and Belgium from July 1, 2026 – Broad Impact on European Transport

Road toll surcharges will be increased in the Netherlands and Belgium starting July 1, 2026. The changes will have a wide-ranging impact on DHL Freight’s road transport operations across Europe.

Road tolls are included in transport pricing through a separate road toll surcharge. The increase in the Netherlands affects not only shipments destined for the country, but also transit traffic passing through it, such as transports to Belgium and Portugal, as well as partly to Spain and France. The Belgian increase, in turn, affects not only traffic within Belgium but also transports to Portugal and, to some extent, to France and Spain.
