Spain and France: Wildfires May Cause Delays to Shipments
July 27, 2026
Due to the wildfires currently affecting the Madrid region, a national state of emergency has been declared in Spain. Large wildfires in the Bordeaux area of France are also disrupting traffic. The situation may cause delays to transportation, pickups, and deliveries in both regions.
Several roads in the Madrid region have been closed due to the wildfires. In the Bordeaux area, the fires are also causing significant disruptions to local traffic in certain locations. Road closures, measures taken by authorities, and rapidly changing conditions may result in delays to shipments to and from the Madrid and Bordeaux regions.
DHL Freight is closely monitoring the situation together with local operators and partners and is working to minimize the impact of these disruptions on customers' shipments.
You can track the progress of your shipments through the MyDHLFreight portal.
