Public Holidays Cause Changes to European Groupage Freight Schedules
October 30, 2026
Public holidays observed across Europe in November will cause exceptions to DHL Freight's groupage freight transport schedules between Finland and Continental Europe.
All Saints' Day on Saturday, 31 October will result in traffic restrictions in several European countries, affecting DHL Freight's import traffic from Continental Europe to Finland. The impact applies particularly to shipments from Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, and parts of Italy. Due to driving bans, some shipments will not make the ferries departing from Travemünde over the weekend and will therefore arrive in Finland 1-2 days later than usual.
Poland's Independence Day on Wednesday, 11 November will affect groupage freight services in Poland. The Wednesday groupage departure to Finland has been cancelled.
The national holiday in the Czech Republic on Tuesday, 17 November will affect Czech groupage freight operations. The Tuesday groupage departure to Finland has been cancelled. In addition, deliveries of export shipments will be delayed by 1-2 days due to the public holiday.
