DHL Freight Temporarily Moves to Weekly Fuel Surcharge Updates

The changed security situation in the Middle East is currently affecting global logistics chains and is also reflected in European road transport.

March 10, 2026

The use of alternative routes, changing security arrangements and fluctuations in fuel prices may cause both cost variations and schedule adjustments.
DHL Freight is closely monitoring the situation. Our aim is to anticipate changes as efficiently and transparently as possible and to minimize their impact on your supply chains.

Rising fuel prices – immediate impacts

The most immediate impacts are currently seen in rising fuel prices. Fuel is a key cost factor, particularly in long-distance transport.
Due to the exceptional market situation, DHL Freight will temporarily move to weekly fuel surcharge updates. The objective of this change is to ensure that transport pricing reflects the rapidly changing market conditions:

  • The new fuel surcharge will take effect starting March 11, 2026.
  • The fuel surcharge will be updated every Monday going forward.
  • The updated surcharge will remain valid until the end of the week.
  • The next update will be published on March 16, 2026.

With this approach, we aim to ensure transparent pricing that reflects market conditions in a rapidly changing environment. We will keep you informed about further developments and will communicate any additional changes without delay.
