Turns Retired Match Uniforms into Locker Room Hangers

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has launched the "DHL x Urawa Reds Remake Project". To mark the 20th anniversary of their partnership with Urawa Red Diamonds, the professional football club competing in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League, both parties are upcycling retired jerseys into clothes hangers for locker rooms.

Twenty years of matches, memories and passionate support live on in every Urawa Reds uniform worn by fans. This project gives those uniforms a second life. By collecting jerseys once worn by supporters in the stands and remaking them into new items, DHL Japan and Urawa Reds aim to promote circularity while channeling their passion directly back into the club. The initiative also builds on DHL Japan's broader environmental commitment: guided by the Group’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. DHL is electrifying its delivery fleet, expanding use of sustainable aviation fuel, and working toward carbon-neutral facilities around the world.

The Remake Project will run as a continuous collaboration, with new items to follow later. The first item is clothes hanger, which will be placed in the players’ locker room.

Tony Khan, President and Representative Director of DHL Express Japan, said, "These uniforms carry the passion of every supporter and fan who has stood by Urawa Reds in the past 20 years. We're proud to give them a new purpose. Taking something valuable and carrying it forward to its next destination is exactly what our logistics business is about. Through this project, we're committed to helping to build a more sustainable future alongside Urawa Reds."

Minoru Shimizu, Representative Director and President of Urawa Red Diamonds Co., Ltd. said, "It's a real joy to see the history woven into our supporters and fan's jerseys carry forward in a new form, continuing to support our players. This project was only possible because of our 20 years with DHL Japan, and we'll keep building toward a sustainable future together with our supporters."
