As the first service point in the airport terminal, it enables tourists to drop off and send their packages abroad

DHL Express has partnered with JAL ABC, Inc. to open a DHL Service Point within the airport terminal, where tourists can drop off and ship their packages to anywhere in the world via "DHL Express Easy," service. This marks DHL Express's first drop-off location inside an airport terminal in Japan. JAL ABC is a provider of baggage delivery service and rental of mobile phones and devices at Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport.

According to Japan's Tourism Agency, inbound tourism spending reached a record 9.46 trillion yen in 20251, up 16.4% year-on-year. Separately, Narita International Airport reported that the number of foreign passengers at Narita International Airport reached 24.1 million2 in fiscal year 2025, also a record high. Against this backdrop of sustained growth, through this partnership, DHL establishes a direct presence at one of the most critical touchpoints for inbound demand.

"Outbound shipping demand driven by inbound tourists is growing and capturing that demand is one of our top priorities," said Tony Khan, President and Representative Director of DHL Express Japan. "Our partnership with JAL ABC enables us to establish a drop-off point to help to meet our customers’ needs. We will continue to deepen collaboration with domestic and international partners to further strengthen Japan's international express shipping infrastructure."

DHL Express has consistently invested in service infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of inbound travelers. Most recently, the company co-developed "Hakobouya," an online tool that enables travelers to create shipping labels directly from their smartphones at retail storefronts across Japan. The opening of the new service point at the Narita International Airport location is a natural extension of these strategic investments.

"By combining JAL ABC's established traveler touchpoints at various airports in Japan with DHL's global express network, we are able to offer inbound visitors a more comprehensive and seamless service experience," said Ms. Keiko Sadoya, President and Representative Director of JAL ABC, Inc. "We look forward to a partnership that delivers both enhanced traveler convenience and sustainable business growth for both organizations."
