“We’re like the catwalk at a fashion show!” laughs Osman, “Out front – what customers receive – is that lovely garment they have been coveting, whereas behind the scenes it’s a busy operation: we have varied pallet racking to suit different garments, shelves that we can configure on demand, a parcel belt connecting our mezzanine with our inbound and outbound areas, a hanging transport conveyor and a sorter loop with ten chutes. We have semi-automated picking, goods receiving and packing and sorting. We also use innovations like pick-to-voice, keeping our picking quality up.
We also have a team that’s really experienced in inbound, outbound and returns relating to B2B and B2C fashion, and in particular to formal wear; in fact, we offer a number of value-added-services around formal wear,” explains Osman.
The DHL Fulfillment Network offers flexible, scalable solutions, and this is perfect for customers who are growing, or who perhaps want to run a promotion in a new territory. “One of the fantastic things about Borås is its location, says Simon Volkwein, Regional Head of EMEA & UKI for the DHL Fulfillment Network. “Here we’re strategically located in the South of Sweden, which gives our customers easy access to all Nordic markets, and we’re close to the main seaport of Gothenburg and several airports, so we can also serve international destinations easily. There are a number of important carrier hubs for parcel and pallet distribution nearby too.”
