DHL Freight: New Road taxes New road taxes in several European countries in the first quarter of 2026

We would like to remind all customers who ship internationally that road taxes in several countries will be adjusted as of 1 January 2026. 

This means that for customers with transports to/from Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia, we will now start charging separately for road tax. 

In Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria, road taxes will be adjusted from 1 January, and for Poland, the adjustment is expected to take place on 1 February. 

Denmark is also expected to adjust its road tax in Q1. We will return with increase figures and dates when these are known.

Transit road taxes are accordingly adjusted and updated for those countries with transport via and to/from the countries concerned.

Updated price lists are available on our website and are adjusted as government decisions in different countries are made. The change affects both existing and new customer agreements.
