2026-09-14 - DHL Freight: Changes in customs procedures to Norway

Applies to all international products to Norway

Risk of transit time changes as Norway introduces stricter requirements for digital customs clearance prior to border crossing from 15 September 2026.

As of Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the Norwegian Customs Administration will introduce the Digitoll requirement, meaning that customs declarations must be submitted digitally before crossing the border.

For you as a customer, this will not result in any direct changes, except that it will become even more important to provide supporting documentation, such as customs invoices and other customs-related documents, as early as possible. This is because the administrative work required for border clearance will become more extensive.

There is a risk of changes to transit times, particularly around the implementation date. Our ambition is to ensure that the impact on our customers is kept to a minimum.
