Young Professionals Choose DHL as an Attractive Employer

Press Release: September 19, 2024

DHL is among the companies that Sweden's students and young professionals most want to work for. For the ninth time, DHL makes the top list when Academic Work and Kantar measure employer attractiveness.

When the Young Professional Attraction Index (YPAI) 2024 is presented, DHL ranks among the 100 most attractive employers in Sweden. It is the ninth time since 2015 that DHL has placed in the top 100 as the most mentioned employers.

"I am so happy and proud. This shows that our long-term focus on employer branding is paying off. At the same time, we gain further understanding of what future employees prioritise when choosing employers and careers, which is a strategic issue in our business," says Emilie Ernstson, HR Director at DHL Freight Sweden.

"DHL is a global and innovative company that offers many opportunities in an interesting industry. We are also active in issues related to the future, sustainable transition and social responsibility. In addition, we have a clear focus on how we constantly develop our employees. I think that combination attracts many people when they make choices at the beginning of their careers," says Emilie Ernstson.

About the Young Professional Attraction Index

In collaboration with Kantar, Academic Work has created a measure of employers' attractiveness among students and professionals at the beginning of their careers – the Young Professional Attraction Index (YPAI). A young professional does not necessarily refer to age, but rather someone who is at the beginning of their career with 0-5 years of work experience.

The survey has been conducted since 2015 and this year 4,741 people participated in the Swedish part of the study. A total of 13,519 people participated in the countries Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and Germany.

The survey covers questions that address topics such as the perception of leadership, its underlying factors and crucial elements in the selection of employers. The respondents also write in free text which employers they would most like to work for. The 100 most mentioned employers are those that are included in the main survey each year.
