DHL SUPPLY CHAIN PUTS INTO OPERATION A NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR SAGE APPLIANCES

• DHL Supply Chain extends contract with Sage Appliances for another five years
• The customer’s operation was moved to a larger distribution center in Nýřany
• DHL Supply Chain already provides logistics services in the Pilsen region in three locations and uses nearly 140 000 m² of storage space there

DHL Supply Chain, a leading provider of contract logistics services, has concluded a contract with its customer Sage Appliances for another five years, and on that occasion opened a distribution center in Nýřany for the Australian company in September. The companies started cooperation in April 2018. Since then, the volumes of stored goods have grown so much that, due to capacity reasons, it was necessary to move operations from the originally used distribution center in Jažlovice to a larger warehouse space in Dobřejovice and subsequently to Nýřany.

“We are excited about the collaboration with this premium brand. We are pleased that we were able to support it in its dynamic growth,” says Milan Dvořák, regional director of DHL Supply Chain for distribution centers in the Pilsen region. “By moving to a new distribution center, we are able to respond even better to our customer’s growth potential and to the rapid changes that the current market brings,” adds Milan Dvořák.

DHL Supply Chain provides Sage Appliances with customs services, sea containers receiving, cartons palletizing, warehousing, order picking, completing, value-added services and distribution to twelve European countries. For this, it is now using the newly leased logistics center with a size of 30,000 m² in Nýřany.

“The Pilsen region is very important for us. We currently provide logistics services to our customers in three locations: Pilsen, Nýřany and Bor u Tachova. In total, we use nearly 140 000 m² of storage space in this region, which represents approx. one fifth of our storage capacities in the Czech Republic. One of the advantages is the possibility of synergy between branches, which helps us deal with seasonal fluctuations more easily,” explains Milan Dvořák.
