DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, celebrates the groundbreaking of the DHL Osaka Logistics Center in the Nanko area of Suminoe ward, Osaka, Japan. It will serve as a foundation to optimize the supply chains in the Kansai region and the entire western Japan area, supporting DHL Supply Chain’s ambition to double its business by 2030.
DHL Osaka Logistics Center is a four-story, multi-user warehouse with approximately 55,700 square meters (17,000 Tsubo) of total floor area. It meets sophisticated logistics needs through advanced solutions, with a focus on technology and service parts logistics. Strategically located just 1km away from the Nankonaka Interchange on the Bayshore Route (Route 4) of the Hanshin Expressway, it offers excellent connectivity to the Osaka city center and Kansai International Airport.
The facility will feature environmentally sustainable solutions, including solar panels to power the warehouse and office, a battery energy storage system (BESS) for enhanced grid stability, EV charging stations for commercial and passenger vehicles, rainwater harvesting, and LED lighting with motion sensors to optimize energy efficiency. The building aims to obtain LEED Gold, a global green building rating system by the U.S. Green Building Council.
