35 Years of DHL in Poland

Since the early 1990s, we have been supporting the growth of Polish businesses, helping thousands of companies reach customers both domestically and around the world, expand international trade, and build modern supply chains. Today, DHL Group in Poland represents one of the country’s most comprehensive logistics ecosystems, combining global reach with local expertise.

Currently, DHL Group operates through five divisions in Poland: DHL eCommerce, DHL Express, DHL Freight, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain. This is a story of investment, innovation, and above all, of 10,000 employees who bring our mission to life every day: connecting people and improving lives.

Our partners

Allegro

We want to be present wherever Poles shop online. That is why, in April 2025, we joined the Allegro Delivery program, making DHL delivery services available to Allegro users through DHL Lockers, DHL ServicePoints, and courier delivery. It was a natural step for two brands that share a commitment to convenience and freedom of choice. Today, Allegro is the most popular e-commerce platform in Poland, and we are delighted to work together on solutions that make online shopping even easier and more convenient.

In July 2026, we expanded our cooperation, enabling DHL eCommerce to deliver parcels within the Allegro Delivery program to Allegro One Box lockers as well. This marks another important step in strengthening the partnership between our two companies.

Żabka

For years, Żabka has been developing an ecosystem of convenience built on simplicity, proximity, and time savings. These are values that are also very close to us. We have been working with the chain since 2017, and since 2024 we have been developing a direct partnership that allows customers to collect and send parcels while doing their everyday shopping. Together, we demonstrate that convenience is not only about fast delivery, but also about the ability to take care of several errands in one place, close to home, and exactly when needed.

Biedronka

We want to be present where everyday life happens. That is why our DHL Lockers are already located at more than 2,100 Biedronka stores across Poland. This means that nearly one in four DHL Lockers is situated next to the country's largest retail chain. As a result, sending or collecting a parcel can simply become part of everyday shopping. Convenient, fast, and on the way.

LOT AMS

Our cooperation with LOT AMS (LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services) began with an ambitious project that required combining the expertise of two DHL divisions, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express, into one integrated solution.

Together, we developed a service model covering both critical express shipments of aircraft parts and oversized cargo, dangerous goods transportation, and comprehensive customs clearance support. Today, we handle up to 10,000 orders annually, supporting aircraft maintenance operations worldwide through a dedicated operational team available almost around the clock.

This partnership demonstrates that through trust, specialized expertise, and outstanding coordination, we can jointly build a reliable supply chain for one of the world's most demanding industries.

Pierre Fabre

For more than 20 years, we have supported Pierre Fabre in the distribution of cosmetics, medical devices, and dietary supplements on the Polish market, providing efficient logistics services fully aligned with the client's requirements.

We manage processes that require complete batch traceability, expiration date control, and monitored storage conditions, ensuring the highest level of care at every stage of a product's journey to the pharmacy. Our support also includes product labeling, preparation of promotional kits, and returns management.

Thanks to a combination of operational precision, strong accountability, and flexibility, we have remained a trusted partner in one of the most demanding market segments and have supported Pierre Fabre's logistics operations for many years.

POSNET

A Partnership That Dates Back to the Servisco Era
Our shared history began in 1993, during the Servisco years, when POSNET was still a small manufacturer of fiscal cash registers. Over more than three decades, the company has grown into a market leader, and today every second cash register sold in Poland bears the POSNET logo.

When our partnership began, we collected shipments from a small warehouse. Today, we serve six branches across Poland, a manufacturing facility in Warsaw, and handle collections from the Lubelska Fabryka Wag Fawag. Throughout every stage of this growth, we have stood by the customer’s side, supporting its development with our full portfolio of logistics services, from time-critical shipments and export services to pallet deliveries.

RARS

At a time when the world was facing the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, together with the Government Strategic Reserves Agency (RARS), we carried out some of the first deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines from the European Union to third countries. Through meticulous planning, round-the-clock monitoring, and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions, we delivered more than 1.5 million vaccine doses to Australia and Vietnam in record time.

This exceptional project demonstrated that DHL’s global network, expert knowledge, and logistics executed with “surgical precision” make it possible to safely deliver the most sensitive products even to the other side of the world.

DGS Diagnostics

"I highly value our cooperation with DHL Express because on-time delivery is essential for both us and our customers. Our products leave our factory in Rosówek today and reach customers in the most remote corners of the world within just two days."

Judyta Przybylska Cardoso, Customer Service Coordinator, DGS Diagnostics

DKMS Foundation

"When selecting a partner to support our mission, three elements were crucial: communication, responsiveness, and a willingness to transport biological material, which involves numerous restrictions, especially when it comes to international transportation. In addition, DHL is a well-known and recognized company, which gave us confidence that we would be working with a trusted partner with a strong reputation."

Anna Jarnicka, Manager of Confirmatory Typing, DKMS Foundation

"As a yacht-building partner, it is extremely important to us that our shipments reach customers on time, without delays, and that customers can be confident that working with us will not slow down their production process. If I had to describe our cooperation with DHL Express in three words, they would be punctuality, trust, and partnership."

Katarzyna Karasińska, Sales Director, Yacht Concept

People who made the difference

Elżbieta Golonka Business Development Manager eCommerce, DHL eCommerce

"I have been with DHL since the company’s very first day in Poland. The early years, starting in 1991, were full of challenges but also incredible energy. At that time in Warsaw, DHL operated from two locations: the head office at 30 Aleje Jerozolimskie and the operational facility at 1 Sekundowa Street. The sorting facility and warehouse were located in a large hall with no windows and no heating. Inside, four shipping containers served as our offices. Whenever there was a power outage, courier vehicles would drive into the hall and illuminate the workspace with their headlights. Stopping operations was simply not an option. We handled air shipments to and from almost every corner of the world, as well as domestic express shipments, which at that time represented only a small part of our business. In the beginning, Warsaw was the sole entry and exit point for shipments moving in and out of Poland. Before DHL established its own network connecting major cities across the country, we relied on domestic air cargo transport and rail services, including shipments carried by train conductors. Every shipment was accompanied by paper waybills that were completed by hand using pre-printed, multi-copy forms. Each copy had its own purpose and had to reach the correct destination. Proofs of delivery, including the delivery date, time, and the recipient’s legible signature, were collected by couriers on the copies accompanying the shipment. Only later were courier manifests introduced specifically for gathering signatures. For a long time, binders served as our Track & Trace system and primary source of shipment information. Those were truly remarkable times, filled with enthusiasm and a strong sense that we were building something entirely new. Courier services were still a novelty on the Polish market, and DHL was its undisputed leader. It was during those years that the foundations of DHL in Poland were established."

Violetta Szypura Operational Processes Expert, DHL eCommerce

"I have been with DHL for 29 years. I started my career with Servisco in the Billing Department in Głuchów, and I have remained connected to this location ever since. When I joined the company, all the information on paper waybills was handwritten by couriers and then manually entered into the system. A single employee could enter as many as 1,100 waybills in a single day. I still remember our friendly competition to see who would be the first to enter the thousandth waybill of the day. Six people worked in one small room, seated at narrow desks, while a dot-matrix printer under the desk continuously printed reports. You had to be careful not to get caught in the paper feed. Customer invoices were also prepared entirely by hand. One person would print the documents, compile all the necessary attachments, place everything into envelopes, and send them by post. Today, we operate in a completely different environment. We use advanced systems, cloud-based data, remote working solutions, and automated processes that support significantly higher shipment volumes than ever before."

Julian Oziemkowski International Products Sales Development Manager, DHL eCommerce

"September 1991. I joined Servisco. Together, we began building the history of the Polish courier industry from the ground up, as the first company of its kind in the country. Our daily reality consisted of paper documents, landline telephones, and paper maps. At that time, valuable parcels were still associated with string and wax seals. Servisco changed that. Replacing traditional string with modern adhesive tape was both a technological and a cultural revolution. It marked the transition from 19th-century administrative procedures straight into the era of modern, global business. During those early years, I also introduced two groundbreaking products: the document envelope and the poly mailer, both of which are still in use today. In addition, I established the company’s first full-time terminal in Konin entirely from scratch. Thirty-five years in the Sales Department have shown me that logistics is a living organism, with no room for boredom or routine. I have witnessed the journey from contracts handwritten through carbon paper, to electric typewriters and the first computers, and finally to the era of smartphones. There was a time when I knew by heart the phone numbers of 300 customers. Today, I see a modern company where artificial intelligence supports processes and parcels are tracked in real time. Yet throughout this digital transformation, people have always remained at the center. Close relationships with customers, new challenges every day, and our As One culture mean that regardless of crises around the world, we always pull in the same direction as one large international team. I am proud of every year I have spent with this company."

Przemysław Szynkiewicz Head of NTBO INT/DOM

"My journey with DHL began in May 2006. From day one, I was thrown in at the deep end, taking responsibility for key customers and quickly learning the specifics of the freight forwarding industry. I started my career as a Freight Forwarder and, over the years, progressed through the roles of Senior Specialist and Coordinator before becoming Head of NTBO in 2019.

Looking back on the last 20 years, the biggest change has undoubtedly been digitalization. I remember the days when a freight forwarder’s primary tool was a notebook filled with customer and carrier contacts. Today, we use modern systems that significantly streamline our daily work. At the same time, what matters most at DHL Freight has remained unchanged: people, teamwork, and the satisfaction of growing the business. I am still excited by the opportunity to win new customers because, as I often say, once a freight forwarder, always a freight forwarder."

"Not once in the past 20 years, when getting out of bed in the morning, have I thought: ‘Oh no, I have to go there again.’ This job gives me tremendous satisfaction."

Anna Kaczyńska Operations Projects and Safety Coordinator

"I joined the DHL Group in 2004, starting my career at DHL Express as a Customer Service Agent. The stamp on my first employment contract still carried the Servisco name. Four years later, I moved to DHL Freight, taking on the role of Telesales Representative and beginning another very intensive stage of my career.

Over the years, I have gained experience across various areas of the organization, including sales, customer service, administration, and operations. Each role brought new challenges and opportunities for development.

Looking back, I see DHL Freight as an organization that is constantly evolving and boldly embracing new challenges. I am particularly proud to have been part of the journey that led to the creation of DHL Freight as an independent company. It is proof that we continue to grow and create new opportunities for both the business and our employees."

Quote:

"The opportunity to grow, learn new things, and continuously challenge myself is what has kept me here for so long."

Andrzej Krzymowski SME Sales Representative, DHL Express Poland

"I will soon celebrate 33 years with DHL Express. I started as a courier, then worked in the Customs Agency, and for nearly 20 years I have been part of the Sales Department.

I value teamwork and building business relationships based on trust. One of the greatest sources of satisfaction for me is seeing how our customers' businesses grow thanks to their cooperation with us.

I also draw a great deal of joy and motivation from working with colleagues across other departments, including SVC, Customer Service, Customs Agency, Collections and CAHELP.

It truly is The Best Team!"

Agnieszka Łukawczyk Operations Director, DHL Express Poland

"My journey with DHL Express Poland spans more than 30 years of a fascinating adventure through the worlds of logistics, technology and people. I began at a time when landline phones and fax machines were part of everyday business life, and today our customers can track their courier's route to their company in real time. This is the best proof of the tremendous transformation our industry has undergone, and how unique it has been to witness and participate in it from the inside.

From working in customer service at the reception desk, I progressed to the role of VP Net OPS, responsible for a broad range of Operations activities, including airport, warehouse, customs and courier services, as well as process engineering, infrastructure projects, system solutions, and service and operational analytics.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of helping implement improvements that genuinely enhanced the customer experience: automating processes, developing the competencies of our specialists, and supporting customers with the knowledge they need in the rapidly changing world of logistics and regulatory requirements.

DHL Express has a unique mission, "Connecting people, improving lives," and for me, the most important thing is seeing every day how this mission becomes part of our work, our decisions and our relationships with people."

Krzysztof Bielica

"Krzysztof Bielica began his journey with the company 33 years ago at Cargo Line as an Export Manager at Warsaw Airport. At the time, he was primarily involved in air freight logistics, although looking back, it is fair to say that he became equally skilled at managing change, integrations, and successive business challenges.

Over the years, he held a variety of roles, ranging from Sales and Operations Director to Management Board Member, before being appointed President of the Management Board of DHL Global Forwarding Poland in 2012, a position he continues to hold with great satisfaction.

What he values most is people. That is why he champions a culture built on trust, open communication, and strong partnerships, and is on a first-name basis with most employees. Outside of work, he can most often be found at the gym, on the tennis court, or horseback riding, as he believes that staying in good shape is just as important in logistics as it is in sports.

After 33 years, he still firmly believes that the greatest satisfaction comes not from positions or titles, but from the team and the company that have been built together."

Beata Wojtczak

"When I joined DHL in 1993, it was the year the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) was held for the first time, the year the Internet was born, Jurassic Park premiered in cinemas, and the legendary Polish magazine Świat Młodych was published for the last time.

Since then, the company has become my second home. I have spent more than half of my life here. I grew up alongside this organization, experienced countless changes, met fantastic people, and some of them have become my lifelong friends.

There were both good times and difficult moments, but there was always someone to smile with, talk to, and rely on. Today, after 33 years, what I have above all is a wealth of memories and a deep affection for this place."

Agata Niewdana

"Over the past 21 years with DHL Supply Chain, I have had the unique opportunity to witness the company’s growth, the acquisition of new customers, and the increasingly complex operational challenges it has taken on. My own career journey is the best proof that DHL creates an environment where people can truly develop and thrive.

I started as a Warehouse Administrator and, thanks to the opportunities provided by the company, the experience I gained, numerous training programs, and the support of my managers, I was able to continuously build my skills and gradually take on greater responsibilities. Today, as a Business Unit Manager, I oversee complex logistics operations, collaborate closely with customers, and lead teams that contribute to our company’s success every day.

DHL has given me the opportunity to continuously learn, gain new experiences, and grow as a leader. I particularly value the chance to work in an international environment that inspires innovation, knowledge sharing, and a broader perspective. It is this collaboration that allows me, even after so many years, to continue growing, developing my competencies, and taking on new challenges.

I also strongly identify with DHL’s values and the business culture the company represents. Respect, collaboration, customer focus, and a constant drive for excellence are values that are especially important to me and that I strive to demonstrate every day together with my team.

At work, just as in sports, where I earned the title of European Bench Press Champion, I believe in the power of consistency, discipline, and teamwork. I am proud that for 21 of DHL’s 35 years in Poland, I have had the opportunity to be part of this journey and contribute to the success of an organization that continuously invests in people and their development."

Tomasz Kocik

"During my 20 years in DHL Supply Chain’s finance organization, I have had the unique opportunity to witness the company’s growth and transformation almost year by year. I have seen us expand our operations, win new customers, invest in new facilities, technologies, and solutions that today set the standards for modern logistics.

From a finance perspective, the scale of this transformation is particularly visible because behind every number there are specific decisions, investments, people, and the courage to aim higher. I am especially pleased that, from the very beginning, the company has supported the development and professional growth of our finance team members. As a result, many of them have gone on to take on new challenges and successfully advance their careers.

I am proud that for 20 of DHL’s 35 years in Poland, I have had the opportunity to be part of this story.."

Rafał Szumski

"I have been associated with DHL for more than 26 years, with my journey beginning in the Servisco days. Through a number of roles, including Logistics Manager, Logistics & Infrastructure Manager, and Operations Support Director, I have had the opportunity to observe how the logistics industry in Poland has evolved and how our company has developed alongside it.

I have witnessed the expansion of transport networks, investments in modern infrastructure across Poland, the implementation of new technologies, the dynamic growth of e-commerce, and the transition from traditional logistics operations to increasingly advanced and tailored customer solutions. Equally importantly, I have seen the remarkable development of DHL’s people, teams full of commitment, passion, and inspiration who drive our success every day."
